1. Acceptance
By installing, accessing, or using Portwood ("the Software"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Software.
2. License
Portwood is licensed under the Apache License, Version 2.0. You may use, copy, modify, and distribute the Software freely under the terms of that license. The full license text is available at github.com/Portwood-Global-Solutions/Portwood.
3. The software
Portwood is a document automation application that runs entirely within the Salesforce platform. It creates PDFs, Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, and HTML documents from Salesforce records using templates with merge tags, and can be used from Salesforce automation such as Flow.
4. Pricing
The Software (the Portwood managed package) is provided completely free of charge with no user limits, template limits, or generation limits. All features of the managed package are included for all users; no feature of it is locked behind a paywall. Optional paid Premium Support is offered separately and governed by its own terms — see the Services page.
Agentforce for Portwood extension. The Agentforce for Portwood extension is a separate, optional package and is not part of the free Software above. Its installation is password-protected, and passwords are issued to active Premium Support members. Once installed, the extension remains functional without any ongoing payment: you retain a non-expiring, unlimited-use license to the version installed as of your most recent payment. Continued membership entitles you to subsequent versions, whose installation codes are distributed solely through Premium Support channels. Lapsing or canceling a membership does not disable, remove, or time-limit an already-installed version; it ends only your entitlement to further upgrades and support. The extension additionally requires Portwood 3.46 or later and an Einstein / Prompt Builder entitlement in your own Salesforce org, which Salesforce enforces at install time.
5. Community
Portwood is a community-driven project. Feature requests, bug reports, and discussions are managed through the Portwood Slack community and GitHub Issues. The community helps shape the product roadmap.
6. Data and privacy
The Software runs entirely within your Salesforce org. We do not have access to your Salesforce records, templates, generated documents, or any other data inside your org. As a managed package publisher, Salesforce automatically provides us with limited subscriber information (org ID, org name, org type, install status) through the standard PackageSubscriber system object. This is a Salesforce platform feature that applies to all managed packages. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
7. No warranty
The Software is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and noninfringement. In no event shall Portwood LLC be liable for any claim, damages, or other liability arising from the use of the Software, including but not limited to data loss, service interruption, or document automation errors.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Portwood LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, arising from the use of the Software. Because the Software is provided free of charge, Portwood LLC' total aggregate liability for any claims shall not exceed $100 USD.
9. Support
Free community support is available via the Portwood Slack community and GitHub Issues. Paid Premium Support (a private channel in Slack or Microsoft Teams, and access to the Agentforce for Portwood extension) is available from Portwood LLC. Implementation work — Flow automation, integrations, bulk generation, and rollout — is available through our implementation partners.
10. Slack community
Portwood LLC operates a free Slack community channel for Portwood users. By joining the community channel, you agree to Slack's own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Your messages and shared files are governed by Slack Technologies, Inc. Portwood LLC moderates the community but is not responsible for content posted by other members.
11. Partner referrals
Portwood LLC may recommend third-party Salesforce consulting partners for implementation services. These partners operate independently and are not employees or agents of Portwood LLC. We may receive a referral fee from partners. Any engagement with a partner is a separate agreement between you and that partner.
12. Updates
Package updates are delivered through Salesforce's standard managed package upgrade process. We may release new versions at any time. You are not required to upgrade. We recommend keeping your installation current for security and feature improvements.
13. Intellectual property
The Software is open source under the Apache License 2.0. The Portwood name and associated logos are trademarks of Portwood LLC. The Apache License does not grant permission to use our trademarks.
14. Termination
You may stop using the Software at any time by uninstalling the package from your Salesforce org. We reserve the right to discontinue the Software, though we will provide reasonable notice before doing so.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
16. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page. Continued use of the Software after changes constitutes acceptance.
